The History of CDFL

CDFL was created by Anglo American Corporation (AAC) prior to its exit from Zambia. The purpose of CDFL was to ensure that despite AAC’s exit, social, economic and empowerment programs to address community challenges within their former mining precincts of the Copperbelt and Mumbwa would continue. As such, CDFL was incorporated locally in 2004 and became structurally operational in 2009. CDFL has the mandate to execute projects in sectors of education, health, empowerment, road access, culture, water and sanitation. The Board also approves projects on a discretionary basis where a project is considered vital but does not fit in the approved sectors.
