Prof John Lungu
Professor John Lungu obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Zambia in 1979. He also studied at the University of Wales where he obtained a Master of Science (Economics) and at the University of Aberdeen where he obtained a PhD degree. He has been working for the Copperbelt University since 1986. He rose to become CEO of the University between 1999 and 2003. Prior to joining the Copperbelt University, Prof Lungu worked for the government of the Republic of Zambia as an Economist and the Small Industries Development Organization as Research and Planning Manager and later as Regional Manager. He served on the National Pensions Authority Board as Chairman until April 2009 and served as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Zambia. He still serves on the Board of Chloride Zambia Ltd.
